Craig Pellett

Technology and growing great companies are the inspirations in my working life. I’m a seasoned leader with a history of building great teams, developing B2B solutions, and helping customers find better ways to do business.

One example is Auckland-based Solution Dynamics Limited, which I founded in 1996 as Marketing Data Services and listed in 2004. SDL is now a thriving provider of direct customer communications; its solutions link customers to more than 40 million users worldwide.

My current passion: Streamline Business Group Limited and its five brands: Streamline Solutions, Admin Army, Acume, Ripple4Charities, and Ripple4Schools. They’re all at different stages of growth, but they share the same goal-accelerating business growth by unlocking resource and technology constraints. I’ve seen from the inside what the transformation of back office processes can do for a business, and I love nothing more than tapping disruptive technologies to help new clients capture efficiencies, eliminate mistakes and cut costs.

My background is in workflow consulting and the automation of routine manual business functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable. Streamlining those processes using powerful but simple software solutions has always been a good idea, but it has now shifted to a new phase with the adoption of the Peppol data exchange framework by the Australian and New Zealand governments.

Peppol has opened the door to fast, inexpensive, and secure transactions for businesses of all sizes. If my career in business has taught me anything, it’s that managing everything end-to-end doesn’t scale.

I worked in bank, finance, and account management roles until 2016 when I started Admin Army to take bookkeeping, accounting, and administration tasks off business owners’ hands and free them to focus on growing their companies. It was a great formula and my company grew fast, but in 2020 I was diagnosed with burnout. The lesson was that I needed to slow down to speed up.

That led me to rebuild Admin Army’s processes and structures, consciously removing myself as the central cog for everything.

It was liberating! With only a few exceptions, I now work nine to five, and the company, now part of the Streamline Business Group, continues to grow like crazy. I’m proof that control freaks can let go, and Admin Army is proof that businesses can thrive when their control freak founders hand over to skilled remote staff the routine tasks that tie them down.

I’m the guy who started out in the stores and worked my way up to running what at the time was New Zealand’s largest boutique mail house. It’s a journey that has given me a broad skill set in finance, IT, and people management. These days I apply those skills and deep experience to the benefit of Streamline Solutions’ clients.

My objective: unlocking the potential of our customers’ organisations through the application of powerful finance, donor and lottery management, fulfillment, transaction processing, and related platforms and the services of skilled remote staff. We do this for businesses ranging from car dealerships to steel manufacturers, and for schools and some of New Zealand’s best-known charities. Our clients reap efficiencies and cost savings that just can’t be achieved with in-house resources, and as a result, they stay with us for the long term.

Selwyn Pellett

I’ve been an innovator in the digital economy in NZ, Australia, and Asia for over 20 years, with the last 12 years focused on the global network security and telematics markets. I founded and led telematics company Coretex (acquired by EROAD in 2021) and was previously co-founder, CEO, and chairman of Endace, the first New Zealand-registered company to list on the UK’s AIM stock market. It’s a path that has given me deep experience in international sales, marketing, strategic planning, and supply chain management in small start-ups through to multi-billion dollar corporations.

For me, it’s all about building companies and creating high-value jobs that contribute to a sustainable, high-wage, high-growth, hi-tech economy.
